Amplifying Algerian Voices in Children's Literature
Books for Schools and Communities
Helping children discover books that reflect their experiences and introduce them to other worlds.
We’d love to hear from schools, libraries, community hubs and charities looking to broaden the range of picture books they share with children.
Through our reviews, we explore cultural detail, storytelling, illustration and how characters make choices and shape their own stories. We welcome enquiries from organisations interested in bringing these titles to their readers.
Books for your readers
You may be looking for books that:
-
Reflect the lives, languages and backgrounds of the children you work with.
-
Introduce children to experiences beyond their own.
-
Bring different cultures to life through meaningful everyday details.
-
Give characters personality, imagination and a role in shaping their own stories.
-
Create opportunities for shared reading and conversation.
Our reviews include Arabic-language picture books, with reviews available in both Arabic and English. The language and edition of each book will matter when considering its suitability for your readers.
Who we welcome
We’d be pleased to hear from:
-
Schools and early-years settings developing their book collections.
-
Libraries and community hubs offering reading activities or access to books.
-
Charities and community organisations sharing books with children and families.
-
Organisations supporting children in refugee camps or other settings where access to books is limited.
How to take part
Tell us about your readers and the books you are looking for through our expression of interest form. You don't need to have selected particular titles.
We’ll review your enquiry and, where suitable options are available, contact you to discuss sourcing or supplying books.
We may also explore book donations for schools and community organisations with the greatest need, subject to available resources.
Submitting an expression of interest does not place an order or guarantee books.
