Amplifying Algerian Voices in Children's Literature

Our Work
We bring together people, stories and skills to create picture books rooted in Algerian lives and experiences. Through each project, we work alongside writers and illustrators, supporting their creativity and helping them develop their practice.
Alongside our picture book projects, we review books, develop reading resources and welcome enquiries from schools and communities interested in books featured in our reviews.

Book Reviews
Our reviews explore how words and illustrations bring a story’s world to life. We consider the details that make people, places and cultural experiences feel authentic, and how characters make choices and shape what happens.
We review picture books from different cultures and in different languages. Reviews of books originally written in Arabic are available in both Arabic and English.
Activities for Children
We are developing activities and reading resources that encourage children to tell stories, explore language and find inspiration in everyday life. These will include printables, read-alouds and selected video links for families, educators and community groups, making room for children’s own ideas and experiences.
ACTIVITIES COMING SOON

We welcome expressions of interest from schools, libraries, community hubs and charities looking to build more inclusive bookshelves with books featured in our reviews.
We explore options for sourcing or supplying books, including possible book donations to schools and community organisations with the greatest need, subject to availability and resources.
